Facilities

PAOC houses well equipped and innovative laboratories including atmospheric, marine and solid earth chemistry laboratories, a synoptic laboratory, a fluids laboratory and state-of-the-art computational and modeling facilities. Faculty and students are also involved in observational programs conducted both at sea (in collaboration with WHOI) and in the air.

PAOC is housed primarily in the top six floors of the Green Building. Designed by I.M. Pei, the Green Building is a landmark in the history of modern architecture as well as an icon on the MIT campus. CGCS has offices in E19 while the chemical oceanography and geobiology labs can be found in E25
