The 2009 PAOC Retreat: Stratton Mountain, VT

Mon September 12th, 2016

The faculty, graduate students, postdocs and staff of MIT’s Program in Atmospheres, Oceans, and Climate (PAOC) begin each year with a retreat generously supported by the Houghton Fund. The 2008 PAOC Retreat took place at the Inn@Stratton Mountain, VT over the weekend of September 11-13th.

Each year, the PAOC retreat centers its discussions and lectures around a particular theme; this year's was "The Past, Present and Future of PAOC". Selected by the PAOC Retreat Committee, researchers Inez Fung and Patrich Heimbach guided the conversation over the duration of the weekend.

While there was plenty of research talk, Retreat attendees enjoyed plenty of social time. Hikes, games like Jeopardy, cocktail hour and shared meals allowed the group to socialize casually and enjoy conversation with other PAOC members and their families.
