Skink - courtesy Sai RavelaPrincipal research scientist Sai Ravela and his team develop new methods for photography, image processing, indexing and retrieval for non-invasive photographic identification of individual animals in their ecosystems. Tools the group developed to non-invasively "tag" local salamanders is now being used to track their endangered antipodean cousin the ortago skink.
