To astronomers and astrophysicists today, exoplanet finds are a dime a dozen. Nearly 2,000 have been discovered in the last 10 years, up from roughly 100 in the previous 10 years. Now, the race is on to find one that's habitable, but as Adam Mann writes for PNAS, "Astronomers are at odds over what makes exoplanets 'habitable.'” And EAPS planetary scientist Sara Seager argues that the traditional concept of the habitable zone or Goldilocks zone, isn't helpful anymore.
