In this Oceans at MIT story, MIT-WHOI Joint program student Michael Toomey joins geomorphologists Taylor Perron (EAPS) and Andrew Ashton (WHOI) in an exploration of why Darwin's theory of atoll evolution doesn't fit the observed life-cycle of some volcanic ocean island chains.
