Research Description
Kelsey Tsipis is a science writer and journalist based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She's working with the EAPS Program in Atmospheres, Oceans and Climate, and the Lorenz Center. Kelsey recently graduated with a master’s in science writing from MIT, where she learned to write about research and produce short documentaries. Prior to coming to MIT, she worked at a large international nonprofit research organization as a medical writer, working primarily with health economists and epidemiologists. As an undergrad at UNC Chapel Hill, Kelsey covered a wide range of public health and policy topics, including the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, for which she won the North Carolina Medical Society Scholarship for Medical Journalism. She has since written and produced videos for PBS NOVA, fact-checked for Undark Magazine, and designed interactive graphics for a variety of outlets.
