Education
Ph.D., Natural sciences, Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (via Hamburg University), 2016, MSc, Geophysics and Meteorology, Complutense University of Madrid, 2012, BSc, Physics, Complutense University of Madrid, 2011
Bio and Interests
Postdoctoral associate in John Marshall’s group, my research interests lie primarily in better understanding climate variability from decadal to millennial time scales, especially throughout the Quaternary, using a combination of proxy data and climate model simulations. I am currently exploring interhemispheric asymmetries in climate, focusing on ITCZ migrations associated with changes in ocean circulation in present and glacial climates, as well as climate changes in glacial–interglacial transitions. During my Ph.D. research, I investigated the main physical mechanisms underlying natural climate variability on decadal to multi-centennial time scales in the North Atlantic/Arctic region during the past millennium, with a particular focus on the dynamics of the subpolar gyre. I amalso interested in the validation and assessment of climate proxies using climatemodel (pseudo-proxies)
