Little Worlds: Lost or Found in the Computer
Every computer model is a little world. Modelers like myself love our
little worlds. We build them, explore them, believe in them and
stretch them. We often confuse them with the world outside. Despite
this confusion, we can learn from looking at our models. Maybe we
learn about ourselves, certainly we learn about our own view of the
world, sometimes we even learn something about the world beyond our
own small selves. Here, I shall examine a group of computer models
and ask what they can teach us.
