Thermostats, amplifiers, and rectifiers: What past warm climates can teach us about dynamics.

Proxy evidence of past warm climates has been a wellspring for new ideas in climate for generations of dynamicists. In this talk, I will describe recent improvements in our knowledge of past climates from a proxy perspective and show how these are leading to the discovery of new dynamical feedbacks and mechanisms.
